But extricate really doesn't have anything to do with bodily functions. Thank goodness. It actually means (according to Baron's SAT Practice and Dictionary.com) "to free or to disentangle." It struck a chord in our bored teenage souls.
It seems that as teenagers we are always trying to "extricate" ourselves. We pretty much count down the moments until we get out of school each day, and summer vacation can't ever come soon enough.
Need I mention moving out? It's basically implied in this post. No matter how great parents are, leaving home and being able to make decisions sounds pretty great right now.
In summary, it's a funny, fancy word with a legit definition. Go out and extricate yourself.
-On a side note, this blog IS called digression, so to stay true to its very nature, I am going to go on a completely random tangent that doesn't have anything to do with the above story.
I like pot lucks. I like pot lucks, mostly because I like food. What I don't like is when I can't fit into my skinny jeans. So my question is, why do people always bring the most uber-fattening food to pot lucks???? Could we have a little consideration? Is it too much to ask for a salad potluck? -Jessi
